Colour

Applies to the app and the widget together. On, the cards are painted in whichever colour is in play — the theme's, or the date's own. Off, they go back to plain ink.

Numerals

The colour of the digits where they land on something dark. On a pale card they stay near-black either way, so they can still be read.

Share a link

This is the only part of countdown that leaves your browser, and only for the dates on the list — publishing uploads them. Stop sharing deletes the published copy.

Put it on your desktop

  1. Open the widget with the Widget button up top — it opens in its own small window.
  2. In that window's menu choose Install (Chrome / Edge) or Add to Dock (Safari). It becomes a standalone window with no browser chrome.
  3. Size it, park it in a corner, and keep it on top with your window manager. Everything you add here shows up there straight away.

Your ID

Your dates live in this browser and nowhere else. A countdown ID keeps the same list on every machine you use — encrypted here, with a key made from your passphrase, so what reaches the server is ciphertext it cannot open.

Your data

Your dates live in this browser. Nothing is uploaded unless you publish a link above. Export gives you a JSON file you can move to another machine.
